Wall murals Why should I commission a wall mural? Wall murals are a timeless expression that can add a huge impact to a child’s bedroom or playroom. My original, custom designed artwork ensures your creation is truly one-of-a-kind, limited only by your imagination. Why don’t you advertise your prices? Each wall mural is unique. Once the proposed area has been decided upon, and we have had our “creative brainstorming” session, you will receive a first draft sketch of the mural, along with an estimate based on square footage and estimated completion time. Prices depend on size, the existing wall color, materials and approximate hours needed to create. Estimates are free - so call today! What type of paint do you use? I use high quality, artist grade acrylic paint - which is low odor and highly durable. Acrylic paint ensures beautiful, vibrant colors, along with a non-toxic finish - perfect for children of all ages. For added durability, I mix a water-based Polycrylic with the paint, which enables the walls to be washed in the future . How long does a wall mural take? Once the initial estimate and final draft are completed - work can start at your convenience. I ask that all furnishings be moved away from the area, and the walls be washed with a mild soap and water solution to remove dust and fingerprints. Murals can take anywhere from one day - to two weeks - depending on the size. I only commission one mural at a time - so I can ensure your project is getting my full attention - from start to finish. What’s included in the free estimate? I will meet with you to view the proposed area, and discuss ideas and offer suggestions. Once we have had our “brainstorming” session, I will complete a first draft sketch for you to review, and discuss any final details. Any major changes to the first draft sketch are subject to an additional fee. What if my mural gets damaged? If there is damage to the mural wall or walls, call me, and I can re-paint any section for a small fee (based on the size and extent of the damage). What if I want to re-paint my wall? If you find yourself needing to paint over your mural in the future - a light sanding and primer should be sufficient in prepping the area for re-painting. Board Murals Why might I consider a Board Mural? Maybe you’re renting? Or unsure if your ready to commit to a permanent mural? Perhaps your child has a favorite character that they may “grow out” of in a few years? Or you may want the freedom to re-arrange furniture without restricting your wall space? If this is the case, my Board Murals are the perfect solution. Board Murals are an affordable, fun way to dress up your walls, without the permanence of a Wall Mural. I paint unique, custom designed artwork on π” hardboard that is lightweight, durable and ready to hang up. Just pick a spot and go. And, I can create your board mural at home, so the prices are lower. Plus, you won’t have to work around your child’s napping/sleeping schedule, or move furniture. The possibilities are endless! From a single 2X2’ panel, to an entire wall - the size depends on you. Large murals are pieced together from smaller boards, making transportation and storage of your creation much easier to handle. What type of paint do you use? I use high quality, artist grade acrylic paint, ensuring beautiful, vibrant colors with a durable finish. The edges of the mural are finished and painted as well, completing the look and eliminating the need for framing. Board murals can be finished with a water-based Varathane to increase durability. What is the price of a Board Mural? Each Board Mural is unique and created especially for you. If you decide to pursue a Board Mural, I offer free estimates and a first draft sketch. Board murals can be hung in several ways – mirror clips work really well. Board murals can also be mounted directly to the wall with drywall screws, with the holes filled and touched up with paint for a seamless look. |
