My passion for artwork began many years ago when I was a child. I would spend hours sketching and drawing, eventually moving into other mediums such as acrylic painting. With an extensive background working closely with children, I was constantly inspired to create works of art for them to enjoy. Friends, family and the birth of my two daughters gave me the inspiration, support and encouragement to begin sharing my work.

I truly look forward to working with you, and creating a unique piece of artwork that your family can enjoy for many years to come.                 Denise

Helpful Information
  • Try to have a "style" in mind when planning out your project.  Looking at my previous work, or doing some research through books, magazines, and on-line is very helpful during the planning process.
  • My minimum charge for all murals is $300.00 which includes an initial sketch and research, approx. 6 hours of painting time, and all expenses and materials.  After the minimum fee - the project is then priced hourly based on the estimated time for completion. Each project is unique and different - so it is difficult to price a project before a sketch and design have been approved.  I am happy to provide quotes on my previous work. The following is an example of a mural completed in 6 hours.

  • I can provide an initial sketch and estimate based on digital photos of the room you want painted through e-mail.  If you would like to meet with me personally, a $25.00 fee is required.
  • Any major changes or revisions to the original sketch is subject to a $20.00 fee.
  • Prior to painting - I will always do a basic chalk layout on the wall.  This is a great opportunity to visualize and see the scale of the mural.  Once painting has begun, any changes to the design will be subject to a fee.
  • I use high-quality acrylic paint mixed with a water based poly-crylic to provide durability to the finish.  The best base for a mural is an egg-shell paint finish or higher sheen, as a "flat" paint finish will absorb the paint and look blotchy.  This is a great thing to keep in mind if you are re-painting the room prior to a mural.  If I am doing the base for a larger mural - I use top quality environment friendly paint with minimal odor and residual smell, mildew resistance and low VOC's.
